Ordering Information

An overview of ordering information:

Placing an order:
Our current ordering process requires that you request a quote prior to placing an order. This allows us to check our stock levels and quote you the latest shipping rate in order to keep your shipping cost as low as possible. Shipping is based upon the net weight of the shipment. We have a simple Request For Quote form (RFQ) that is accessed by clicking the 'Ordering' button at the top of the page. You can also use this form to direct a question or comment to us as well. A copy of the form will automatically be emailed to you at the email address provided by you on the form. Accurately and completely filling out the form will help to speed up the ordering process by eliminating the need to request additional information in order to process your order.

Your information is only used to facilitate the ordering process and is not used anywhere outside of our company!!

Once the RFQ is received by our company, it is reviewed and a custom quote put together and emailed back to you to be reviewed and approved by you prior to placing the order. Feel free to make any adjustments as needed or to request additional information.

Once you have approved the RFQ, additional payment information will be provided to you. After the payment has been received and cleared, your order will be processed in the order that it is received.

Payment options:
We currently accept checks, credit cards, PayPal or Money Orders (MO). Checks and MO's can be sent to the address listed at the bottom of this page. Paypal can be accessed at www.PayPal.com. Additional payment information will be provided once your Request For Quote (RFQ) has been processed and accepted.

Shipping options:
Plants and supplies are shipped UPS Ground unless otherwise requested. You must request a quote by email or phone when ordering plants or supplies. We will attempt to ship the cheapest method possible and pass the savings along to the customer. Books are shipped USPS media mail unless otherwise requested. In some cases books may be drop shipped from the publisher if they are not in stock.

Bamboo and selected plant shipping:
Bamboo plants are expensive to ship. Shipping costs are determined by Net Weight and Destination Rates set by the shipping carrier. Because of their large size in some cases and excessive weight, shipping can run as much as 1/3 of the cost of the plant, depending upon the shipping destination. In most cases it is much cheaper. Also in some cases, such as a single cheap plant being ordered, shipping can actually cost more than the plant itself. All of our bamboos and most other types of plants are shipped in a well rooted nursery stock container. Because of the variable bamboo shipping costs and constant in/out of stock conditions of bamboo plants, we request that you please request a custom quote (RFQ) for a total.
To give you a rough idea of the involved weight of an order, net weights are as follows:
- #1 Container - 1 Gal. - 5 lbs.
- #2 Container - 2 Gal. - 10 lbs.
- #3 Container - 3 Gal. - 20 lbs.
- Shipping material - up to 5lbs.

Books:
Books are shipped via USPS media mail as the cheapest shipping method available today, unless otherwise requested. If the book is not in stock it may be drop shipped directly from the publisher or back ordered. Because books are handled differently than live plants, they are usually not shipped with plants when a book / plant order is combined.

Gardening supplies:
Gardening supplies are shipped based upon net weight. They are shipped UPS Ground unless otherwise requested. When placing an order please request a total prior to placing a payment.

Order processing:
Once an order has been placed, we process the purchase in the order that the purchase was received. In a busy period (such as early spring), the order can be delayed while previous orders are being shipped. Please be patient, as we get your order filled and on its way.
